AMS step motor control I.C.'s have an instruction set of over 30 commands that include loop on port, count delays and set/clear ports. An auxiliary step pulse/direction input allows motion generation via external pulse sources with limit switch protection and position counter tracking.

Motor Control I.C.'s
SMC-40; The low power SMC-40 has built in non-volatile memory and does not require a crystal oscillator or a reset circuit. Maximum step rates are over 65,000 SPS. Package sizes are small TSSOP28 or PLCC28. 

Peripheral I.C.'s supported by the SMC-40 include analog control (SMO-40) and encoder feedback (SME-40), both in small SO20 package size. Low OEM prices available.

The SIN-9 is a DB-9 to RJ-45 adapter is for RS-232 applications and facilitates connection between a standard 9 pin serial output and (AMS) RJ-45 motion control products. In general the SIN-9 will operate with either RS-232 or RS-422 products in single axis mode. The adapter is passive, connecting TXD, RXD and GND signals to the appropriate pins. Cable included.

The SIN-11 intelligent serial line converter simplifies application software development and improves overall performance. This devices eliminates the need  for special echoed character software. The built-in microprocessor has several macros that allow multiple commands to multiple axis with a single string command. 

With a USB-1 adapter from AMS the SIN-11 can also interface to a USB port. Cables included.
